Histogram-Based Analysis of Low- and High-Grade Glioma and Its Surrounding Edema Using Arterial Spin Labeling Magnetic Resonance Imaging

چکیده

A glioma is a type of intra-axial brain tumor originating from the glial cells. Making up about one-third all tumors, timely diagnosis alongside correct grading and subsequent therapy planning crucial. Magnetic Resonance Imaging an established method for tumors. Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL) Perfusion allows non-contrast enhanced visualization hyper- or hypoperfusion. Commonly, cell swelling occurs around that causes edema, which subsequently puts healthy tissue at risk by potentially reducing regional perfusion. The patient collective in this study consists 495 patients (501 scans) with histopathologically confirmed grade II-IV diffuse gliomas. aim was to evaluate potential histogram analysis ASL data find biomarkers pathological diagnosis, grading, MGMT, mutation status tumors as well tumor-surrounding edema. showed statistically significant results but not MGMT mutation. differentiation between edema highly yet did show differences perfusion on contralateral hemisphere.

Complex-valued analysis of arterial spin labeling-based functional magnetic resonance imaging signals.

Cerebral blood flow-dependent phase differences between tagged and control arterial spin labeling images are reported. A biophysical model is presented to explain the vascular origin of this difference. Arterial spin labeling data indicated that the phase difference is largest when the arterial component of the signals is preserved but is greatly reduced as the arterial contribution is suppress...

JPET Miniseries: Imaging Potentials and Challenges for Arterial Spin Labeling in Pharmacological Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Pharmacological magnetic resonance imaging (phMRI) is increasingly being used in drug discovery and development to speed the translation from the laboratory to the clinic. The two primary methods in phMRI include blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) contrast and arterial spin-labeled (ASL) perfusion MRI. BOLD contrast has been widely applied in existing phMRI studies. However, because of the lac...

Magnetic resonance imaging quantification of pulmonary perfusion using calibrated arterial spin labeling.

UNLABELLED This demonstrates a MR imaging method to measure the spatial distribution of pulmonary blood flow in healthy subjects during normoxia (inspired O(2), fraction (F(I)O(2)) = 0.21) hypoxia (F(I)O(2) = 0.125), and hyperoxia (F(I)O(2) = 1.00). In addition, the physiological responses of the subject are monitored in the MR scan environment. MR images were obtained on a 1.5 T GE MRI scanner...
